For the 50th Anniversary of the Emirate, Studio Römer led the curatorial strategy for Abu Dhabi — an initiative to create city-wide public art to improve livability, encourage walkability, and shape a legacy of engagement with local artists.

UN World Urban Forum
For the 10th UN World Urban Forum, Ai Weiwei loaned his sculpture Forever Bicycles (composed of 720 bicycles) to be exhibited on the Corniche as part of a dynamic program celebrating Culture + Innovation.
Curatorial Strategy
The studio developed a comprehensive curatorial strategy for the city, painting a considered and holistic approach to introducing color to the urban landscape.

Artline Artist Catalogue
Studio Römer devised and delivered the site-specific Artline artist catalogue with a diverse selection of local and global artists.
‘Tolerance’
Brazilian artist Kobra created a 2,000-square-meter mural in Al Bateen. The artwork depicts the diverse faces of the emirate and embodies the strongly held values of tolerance and respect amongst cultures.
Abu Dhabi Social Media
Studio Römer worked with TostFilms to generate content for social media, as the artists were working on location.
Street Art
Studio Römer devised and delivered a live website catalogue of all the artworks placed or commissioned.
‘Kids of Abu Dhabi’
Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic painted local Emirati girls at play in Mina Zayed.
‘Sharp Liquid’
Argentinian artist Elian Chali lent his bright, geometric style to a house on Al Falah Street.
Large-scale artworks
Collaborated with award-winning artists Wolfgang Buttress and Marc Fornes on large-scale artworks for the public parks of Abu Dhabi.
